Didn’t stay stay at the hotel but ate at the restaurant - a tucked away gem of a find. The setting is a gorgeous romantic terrace, lights strung up in the trees, friendly & accommodating service from the two gents run off their feet! The menu is simple without too much choice and the fare absolutely delicious.
This restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from the port area in a large terrace of a hotel. Tables are well-spaced and the terrace is lovely and private. The food is very well prepared and service is excellent. The restaurant was recommended …
I stayed in room 20 overlooking the courtyard. Nice and bright. This hotel would have been 2 or possibly 3 stars in the old days. Friendly owner. Very close to the port. Didn't eat here. Would recommend.
I absolutely loved my stay here. I was a solo traveler, and it was just perfect. Only a 3 minute walk to the main part of town. My room was definitely no frills in this old building, but perfectly clean, comfortable and safe. The lack …
The rooms were unairconditioned and not that clean. I noticed dirt around the mattress edges and the bathrooms were dingy. The hotel is next to a clock tower that rings on the hour all night. The staff, while friendly, were very busy …
The hotel is ideally located minutes away from Cassis waterfront. Rooms are efficient, bedding is comfortable, and bathroom are spacious. Their is nothing charming about the rooms, it is more of a « sleep and explore » option rather than « stay and chill at the hotel ». There is no AC expect for a ceiling fan that is quite noisy, so we decided to sleep with the window open. It was ok as the street is quiet at night, expect for the church that is just next to the hotel, which offer a beautiful view, however the bell rings every half hours all night which can be disturbing. You can also hear what’s happening in the corridor and the neighbouring rooms, it was quiet at night so we did not have big disturbance, but don’t expect full tranquility.
That being said, the staff is amazing, available, and the terrace of the restaurant is super charming (we have not tried the restaurant, only our morning coffee).
Two part review. The hotel: We stayed at the hotel in July. Room nice enough, ceiling fan super powerful which helped with the heat. Manager very accommodating and helpful. The nearby church bell tower made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. I realize that the hotel can’t really do anything about it, but depending on how soundly you sleep it could be an issue for you. Price of hotel was excellent. Internet ok, not great. Location in Cassis excellent, you can drive your small car to the hotel, drop off your luggage and then go park in the free parking up the hill and take the 2euro shuttle back down. Very easy and no worries about car. By the way take the 9 calanque boat trip from Cassis harbor, you won’t be disappointed. Part two: the Restaurant- definitely go! Delicious foods and wines. My favorite was an eggplant burata appetizer. Pizza was beautiful. Clam pasta and muscles gratin yummy.
Superb terrace, wonderful garden and delicious food. Remarkable serving and excellently mannered staff. Prices reflect this but they are worth every penny. Menu is also optimally varied, wine and beer are of exquisite quality. Simply wonderful and ertainly worth having a dinner here.
